Cambridge Lower Secondary program is for Grades 6 and 7, specially crafted for 11- to 14-year old students by the prestigious Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE). It is designed to provide a strong foundation for students wanting to pursue the IGCSE curriculum in Grades 8 to 10. It is currently offered in nearly 2,300 schools in over 130 countries worldwide. The curriculum encourages learners to become confident in working with information and ideas and provides a robust foundation in English, Maths, and Science.
Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme is the first step for primary students who want to choose International Curricula as their mode of study. The programme comes under the aegis of CAIE which is a syllabus-driven study that helps improve learners’ skills in creative thinking, application of knowledge and problem-solving.

CLS learners develop a first language competency in English based on a curriculum designed to be successful in any environment and to promote cross-cultural understanding.
For English as a First Language, the curriculum promotes an enquiry-based approach to learning to develop thinking skills and encourage intellectual engagement.
The curriculum is presented in five content areas or ‘strands’. These are further divided into ‘substrands’:

Our framework also explores six content areas: number, algebra, geometry, measure, handling data and problem solving.
The first five are underpinned by problem solving, which provides a structure for the application of mathematical skills. Mental strategies are also an important part of the number content. The curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships, to allow learners apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject.
Science covers four content areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics. Scientific enquiry is about considering ideas, evaluating evidence, planning investigative work, and recording and analysing data. The scientific enquiry objectives underpin biology, chemistry and physics, which are focused on developing confidence and interest in scientific knowledge. Environmental awareness and some history of science are also part of the curriculum.

Throughout the program, teachers focus on formative feedback on the skills they want students to develop. When a given challenge is completed, teachers discuss with students ‘what went well’ and how they can improve further, so that students can reflect on, and improve their performance.Students produce individual research projects for Global Perspectives. It enables teachers and students to assess how skills have developed throughout the programme.
Cambridge ICT Starters introduces learners to the key ICT applications they need to acquire that computer literacy and to understand the impact of technology on our daily lives. Modules can be delivered according to the needs of each learning situation and age of the learners.
Learners develop key ICT skills in a range of applications including computer programming, word processing, digital graphics, databases, spreadsheets, email, presentations, video/animation, the internet and web authoring. They also consider wider issues such as eSafety and the adaption of their work to suit their audience.
