Scholarships

Every parent wants quality education for their children. It becomes especially more important when a child is gifted academically or otherwise, and parents are aware that the child can excel. At GIIS Dubai, we understand the financial limitations faced by parents, and hence, we offer many scholarships to students.

The Global School Foundation seeks to ensure that deserving students can access primary education by awarding them with a GIIS scholarship.

What is a scholarship?

A scholarship is a grant awarded to a student to support their education. The good thing about scholarships is that parents and students do not need to worry about repaying the money. Our Foundation awards it to students who we believe cannot afford the education and opportunities that they have a right to.

What are the different types of scholarships for students?

Many parents and students wrongly believe that scholarships are provided to students from humble backgrounds only. While that is true in many cases, it is important to understand the different types of scholarships available for students.

These students would have shown skills and aptitude in a certain field, and the scholarships are designed to help them better their performances.  Academic merit scholarships, sports merit scholarships, and artistic merit scholarships are some of the  categories of merit scholarships.

● Need-based scholarships (H4) - Need-based scholarships are awarded to help parents from poor backgrounds

● Age and gender-based scholarships (H4) - These scholarships are offered to students of a certain age or gender.

The Importance of Scholarship for students

Many parents are hesitant to apply for scholarships because of the misconception that it is for students of poor families. Students from all backgrounds have an edge with a scholarship.

1. Helps a Student to access Quality Education

A GIIS scholarship helps students study at GIIS Dubai, a school renowned for its academic and extracurricular performances. Students have access to the schools’ infrastructure, facilities, the 9GEMs, an award-winning teaching methodology and much more.

Some scholarships guarantee the student a job after completing their University studies once they perform exemplary. Therefore, the students are motivated to work even harder at the University to land the job.

Even when there is no guarantee of a job after school, mentioning that you benefitted from a scholarship in your resume gives you a competitive advantage in job hunting over other applicants.

In most cases, for one to land a scholarship, they must be focused and hardworking; therefore, any organization will be thrilled to have you in their workforce. A scholarship increases your chances of landing a well-paying job in the future than a learner who studied without one.
